Annoying car noises
« on: 01 June 2015, 19:25:17 »

Not the mechanical ones like Chris' woom woom, the little rattles from inside. I've had one on the snotmobile since the first week I had it. I've had the missus and son opening and closing air vents, holding on to handles and I've even given the dash a good hiding....to no avail.
Today I'd had enough. I took everything out of the glovebox and door pockets, convinced it was something I'd put in. It was still there. It really was driving me to distraction to the point I was unsafe on the road leaning all over the car touching stuff.
One last look, I thought, and then I'm gonna kill the bastard. In the pocket on the back of the passenger seat, I found a biro. One with a clicks button the top. Removed it and.......silence. Oh, the joy.

To think I nearly torched my car cause of a biro.  :(

Currency have 3 different rattles/buzzing sounds in the Omega, lot less than there once was though mind... Bloody annoying to say the least even considered selling at times  ;D :-\

Worst being a plastic/metallic type buzzing type sound from he drivers side (exact location unknown), I've tried removing the air vent, air vent housing, soundproofing the area, securing all joints and connections and wires etc.. also securing the steering cowling, storage compartment, fuse door cover etc... But it still buzzes on rough road surfaces no matter what i do.

I know how it feels anyway.  :y

In the morning the omega steering wheel squeaks until it's been turned a few times. That's annoying.

Ma's fusion has a horrible plastic rattle...only at 55 to 65 though lol somewhere from the door card. Again, damn annoying but I hardly drive it so can't be bothered to fix it  ;D

Only at certain volumes, but I have a farting speaker.  Nothing worse than a fart to spoil a great Abba track.  ::)

At least it didn't fail an MOT where it was classed as a driver's distraction. ::) ::) ::) ::)
