A quick one about rocker cover
« on: 02 June 2015, 17:06:11 »

Hi guys, a question about rocker covers for a v6 ... :-[
Rocker covers from 2.6 will fit on 2.5  but plug leads will have excessive play due to holes made for dis pack. Would it be ok to fit those on 2.5 or not?
And another one, if breather system is cleaned regurarly....(I know :-X)...could I fit alloy rocker covers from 2.6 vectra?
Thanks in advance guys

They still leaking  :( Vectra covers will fit but as said breathers need checked more often . It does seem to me that the rocker covers on the earlier models seem to warp more than the newer ones .. could never get mine to seal properly on the pf no matter how hard i tried  :(

Yes I know the feeling >:( The "groove"(I hope this is the expression)  where the gasket goes on cam cover isn't straight anymore. It's all wobbly and I'm not surprised it leaks though it's not that bad now (after refiting gasket for five times >:( :-X)
Paying arround 300eur for set of plastic cam covers with gasket set is a bit painfull, getting used plastic cam covers is risky (can't buy any of yours couse I ditched my credit card - using only maestro now) so the only way to go is alloy cam covers for me :-[ and even those are rare here in the land of renault dci nation :-X

2.6 Vectra doesn't have metal covers... Also plug leads should be a secure fit to the plugs regardless :y

Interesting.. .The 3.2 in Vec C uses same covers as Omega... Presumed 2.6 was the same :-[

Ignoring the whole metal covers point, 2.6/3.2 covers will be fine and dandy :y

As pointed out, it does. All the Vectra B V6's are metal covers. 2.6 have COP recesses, 2.5 don't.

The Signum 3.2 and the Vec C 3.2 both use plastic covers.

It's a pitty you can't buy on here I have more than one set laying around.
