I'd pay that. Depends what it is like in the flesh.

I'd budget belt and kit on any Omega I bought, even if stated it was done, I would have it done again, as the timing is easily wrong.

Budget cam covers, exhaust and some suspension work too.

Too right. Worth every penny (without seeing it)

The belt n stuff was done 3k ago by elite Pete... The rear discs pads and exhaust are goosed though as they're original... Sorting them out this week.

Personally, I would rather pay a bit more for an immaculate low mileage example (especially when you are only taking about £100's), than a shed that costs lots of time and money to get to the same position, but each to their own.

Same here. I spent £1600 on my 53 CDX estate last year. Clearly most people on here would say that I was done  ;).

BUT, it was very low mileage and had been serviced every year (which was about every 4k) by VX. It's had a hard year, during which time it's paid for itself at least twice over in skips I've not had to buy and asked for nothing in return beyond its full service.

I feel it's been exceptional value already and should continue to be.

Just an update, went to look at this car today. Now don't get me wrong i know its a used car but i spoke with the seller for a good half hour and asked him many Q's about it. My main thing was i didn't want was any sort or rust on the rear arches. He did say the car was mint and completely rust free & would put a lot of others to shame, unfortunately although it was very clean the rear lips had started to rust lifting the paint and there was a 50p bubble on the n/s rear arch also the o/s d/pipe was blowing around the cat area. It does look like it's been well looked after, had 4 matching tyres, grooved discs and newish rear section of exhaust. The cambelt was changed in 2010 at 68K. We agreed at £800 over the phone which i was willing to pay but i would need to sort the rear arches out do the exhaust and mot in 2 months. He wasn't willing to drop anymore but was true to his word that if it wasn't as he described it he would pay my fuel. Which he did. Just a shame as i must of asked him a good 5 times about the arches even when he was outside with the car. I am very fussy. Also on the way home i popped into leister to look at a silver f/l 2.5td (on autotrader £790) which again was advertised in excellent condition and again on the phone saying rust free....What a dog arches were full of filler which now is all over their showroom floor!!   Rant over

Don't suppose you took any pictures of rear arches Andrew? Any of the doors succumbing to the tin worm?

You've saved me making the trip up (past MK) this afternoon so thanks for that.  Actually got my BM fixed whilst you've been burning petrol to go look  :)

Sorry mate no pics. The doors looked good from what I saw. The first thing I looked at were the arches and as soon as I saw the rust i only gave it a quick look over as lost interest. I've seen a lot worse on the arches its just they would of needed doing as it wouldn't take long for the rust to spread. I'm after a weekend toy so really wanted a minter to park up in the garage.

Unfortunately there are too many people who just lie or don't look closely.

Mine was mint when I bought it but now needs the arches doing
