Tyre Confessions
« on: 05 June 2015, 21:13:52 »

That dodgy geezer from Huntingdonshire, biggriffin has confessed to having a set of Autoguard tyres on his Omega and Gixer seems to know an awful lot about Autogrip tyres, despite claims that he always fits premium brands!  ::)  :P

Anyone else got any rubber tyre confessions they'd like to get off their chest?  ???  :y

O.K.,guv it's a fair cop I'll confess..........I haven't a clue what tyres are on mine!As far as I recall they are the same make on the rear and the two fronts are different to the rears and to each other. All I can say is they're black and round and stop the wheel rims from wearing away on the road/and or the bumpers etc. scraping the tarmac!!

4 x Acecllera or some suck carp on mine. Utterly dreadful, but as others have said, they stay on while they're black, round and have tread on them!

Yep, mine's similar; two pairs, one on the front and another on the back. Don't remember what they are, and don't care enough to go and look.

The procedure for the pair on the back went like this:

drive to the tyre shop.
"Morning Phil, stick a pair of 235/45 17s on the back of that please"
"Got 6 cars waiting in front of you"
"No problem, keys are in it, I'm going for a coffee"

A bit later
 "That's £123"
Pay.
Go and do something more interesting than faff about with tyres.

I was offered 225/55/16 Triangle XL for £50 each a while back and was tempted, but wasn't really ready at the time for new tyres.  ;)

TBE runs on Nexen N6000s. A relatively poor tyre, but does track dead straight.  I couldn't tolerate them, but then I very rarely drive it.

TBE did have a Heinz 57 set of tyres when I first put the Chavtastic wheels on, one being an Autogrip, hence I am fully aware how dangerous they can be.

The Battlebus has some Dubica tyres on. Shite does not even begin to describe how utterly bad they are in the dry.  Still, they are black and round, made of plastic and presumably cost 50p for all 4, so I can see why some would say they are fantastic.
