pi??ed off of Wiltshire
« on: 16 June 2015, 13:52:45 »

Joff very kindly loaned me a bumper as the Irmscher one requires refurbishment/repair, makes the car look a tad odd but it is still driveable ... (and theoretically might go 0.0000000001% faster having a bit of black on it)

Just been down the local shops and I come out to find that some inconsiderate sod has done this ..

The lady in the papershop says it was a man in a white van who got out, looked, then drove away .. she didn't take his number... what ever happened to honesty ?? I now have to pay for two bumpers to be fixed ...   :(  :(

Mrs. KW had the same. Got his number, CCTV footage of him doing it, business card the van driver dropped off at the office next door. Went to the Police with it all and they couldn't be @rsed were "unable to trace the owner of the vehicle".  ::)

..and we wonder why there are bottom feeders like this around. >:(

Bloody hell Nige, most people would be glad the Irmscher one wasn't on there at the time. Imagine that...!

Although poor old Joff might not be so delighted. Bless him :(

The 2.2 has sustained some similar knocks recently, MrsT has been using it a fair bit to run a few things about town. Come back to find damage like that. It's annoying!

Yet another reason not to spend £15k on a new car.

Very much This!

I get annoyed enough when someone scratches my (already scratched) mig, spending 5 figures on a new motor and having this happen would probably take a number of days off my life! Only time I'll buy a new/nearly new car is for SWMBO if/when we have children.

We have one, I think we can keep the Omega's until we have 3. The 2.2 has half its boot missing due to the LPG tank, but we appear to pack ok. But I'd be mega annoyed if I found that, if I spent say £10-£15k on a Merc E Class Estate.

The 3.2 has full boot, so tend to use this when we go away for a big trip.

So hopefully a good few years left yet, in the old girls  :y

Had a similar thing happen to my Insignia, front scraped, and buckled underneath.

Took it to Lookers for a quote, said new front end + £250 for a re-spray.

Took it to a mates I used to go to school with, he sadly died about 12 months ago, his son now runs the business.

Said I can't do it for less than £120, jobs perfect. :y

Still £120 out of pocket though. >:(

Same with my mirror outside the house here, had it on CCTV, witness statement but neither Police or Direct Line (the car that hit mines insurers) could help.
