LPG-Europa 2 Valve
« on: 07 July 2008, 16:43:10 »

Am looking at installing this valve in my 80l cylinder tank.
It states in the instructions that you must install the "safety valve rubber pipe" and it ought to be installed so that, after the multi-valve assy, its intake in the gaseous phase is turned upwards.
I don't have this pipe or a union to attach it too, only a large tapped hole in the valve.
A certain person thinks its not required, has anyone else had this???

Did the pipe come in the same box as the valve itself??

Is this pipe on the inside of the tank?

The valve incorporates a device that vents tank pressure to the atmosphere if the pressure gets too great. It is important that this valve discharges vapour not liquid and because the multivalve is usually submerged in liquid with a full tank, the pipe should be fitted so it reaches up into the top 20% of tank volume when the multivalve is fitted.

What type of tank do you have? Could it be that on your tank the positioning of the multivalve is such that it's not required?

As to looks, it is a piece of LPG hose about 12.5 - 15mm ID at a guess about 6" long with a 90 degree bend in the middle.

Yes, its inside the tank.
Its a 80l cylinder tank.
There is no pipe in the box and no union fitted to the valve to accept the pipe :( but the valve has a tapped hole to accept a union.

The pipe is NOT required on a cylinder tank when you st the valve angle to 30 degrees ;)
