Eml Light Flashing.
« on: 26 June 2015, 22:22:28 »

Eml flashes after a couple of minutes driving, then missfire occurs on 1,3,5, and light remains lit. It happens at the traffic lights or slow moving traffic and has a lumpy idle.

Switching ignition off/on cures it for a bit, and if driving without stopping the car is fine, plenty of power.
It has new coil packs and plugs...

Will pull the coil in the morning and have a look round, in the meantime any ideas?

Check that bank for oil in plug wells. Also inspect coil pack that side for corrosion.

Try it on petrol only when cold and see if it still does it ;)

0300, 0301, 0305, 0303.

Ok so is the fault on LPG only? If so run it on petrol for a while as Lazydocker suggests. Might just be an LPG set up issue.

When did the fault start in relation to the work on coil PAC and plugs?

How long since the LPG was fitted ? Is it a new ish instal?

I spotted LPG in the profile and have assumed it is on LPG when this fault occurs. I have had similar when I was messing about with switchover temps and it was grumpy cold.

It happens on lpg and petrol, lpg system was already on the car, have owned for 3 years. would say it was fitted about 4/5 years ago, have all paperwork etc.

The fault started about 3 weeks ago.
It started with the 2,4,6 side and i replaced plugs and coil. then two days later it was the 1,3,5 side, so again i replaced coil and plugs. Bosch coils and Ngk plugs.

Meant to do the cam covers at the time but didnt, i am on it right now.....

Ok... Sounds like it is genuinely misfiring then. Report back once the cam covers are changed as I assume there is oil in there.

It is possible, but look at simple stuff first, that the LPG system needs a service and setup checking. If it is out then it could be adjusting long term fuel trims and causing cold issues

1,3,5 is as dry as a bone. :(

2,4,6 is evil, changing gaskets now....

plugs are fine.

So if its 0300,0301,0303,0305 the i have to assume the new coil is faulty?

Nothing else seems to be wrong.

Where was it sourced from?

How old are the plugs, have you popped them out to inspect?

Plugs are two weeks old. They look fine.

Both sides from the same place, both are stamped Bosch underneath...

All back together.

Still Shows 0300, 0301, and 0303.
Its stopped showing 0305.

I am going to return the coil pack, see if another one changes anything.
