Nice, I've always liked the big Lexus. If only they did an estate.

As for the cambelt, it's a much simpler job than an Vx V6, with no timing tools required.

Well! I am pleasantly surprised with the replies.  ;) Cambelt change is 100,000 miles. Looked at black interiors, and yes it does go better with the wood, but to me it made it feel too dark inside? Looked at a few of these for a year before settling on this one a month ago. 'Reliability' is apparently great? I feel born out by the size of the maintenance/repair section on the Lexus forum. Had one problem since buying it, rear aircon pipe split, (common fault apparently?) pipes capped off, now aircon just in the front which is more than adequate. Seems no-one has these repaired due to petrol tank etc having to be dropped. Definitely will not complain about Omega handling anymore.. :-\ another common fault that I have also found on this car is, the pump that lifts the body needs a repair. Kit is £8.50 on ebay. Could do with some help with the DVD player, no instructions and a pile of remotes in the rear armrest. Incidentally, members on Lexus forum are quite complimentary about Miggys..  :y

I think not. :y

Wanted one a few years ago. Bit outdated externally perhaps, but cracking interior and the few people I've met that owned one where VERY happy with them. :y

Do tell us what this gains in terms of spec over an Elite/CDX  :)

I know they have lots of odd little 'toys' being Japanese, very high on the gadget-front. As has been said, they offer nothing (personally) in looks, but all that means is that those who would turn one down, and instead got a BMW, Merc etc.. are missing out - in the same way that badge snobbery would see those same people pass over an Omega.

Seems a very smart motor, and you're clearly happy with it. Good on you, I say  :y

Thank you Jon, and once again for your help in the 'spirit of OOF' going to check out the other one for me. Do tell us what this gains in terms of spec over an Elite/CDX 'How long have you got'?? Most of the blokes on the Lexus forum use any excuse to travel long distances in theirs, quoting. 'just the sheer joy of travelling in such a luxurious car'. No mention of taking a spare HBV or crank position sensor etc along. In fact when I asked about recommended independant garages in my area. I was told that many of the blokes go to Japex in Kings Langley, these blokes live a lot farther North than I do. I have to say, since buying it I have really enjoyed driving it. I go along with everything said about them by blokes that are on their 4th/5th.'Once you have owned one, you will never want to drive anything else'. My Miggys. The 3 elites I have owned I was fond of, and enjoyed immensely. But the first difference I noted with this car was, the difference in quality of leather. and plushness of the seats. I always thought that the sound system in the Elite's was pretty good. But! I had never heard a 'Mark Levinson' system before. I'm not here to either be an envoy for Lexus, or to 'rubbish' Omegas. The Lexus is a totally different animal, 'far superior'. But then Omegas didn't cost £60,000-£70,000. To answer the other two questions, it is an 04 plate, which after research I plumped for over the 06 I was contemplating. Cost? 'Don't jump on me for this comment'... I paid about 6-7 Elite's for it... It had done 97,000 miles....  ;)

Nice car mate - personally I like the light leather interior.  Enjoy.
