Following TB's guide, I have got to the point where I reach through the radio hole to release the locking lever. Having released the locking lever, left hand (passenger side)top corner is still not free, through RH top corner is. I don't want to break it. Have I missed anything?

It's well covered in Haynes, just in case there's an 'obvious if you've done one before but otherwise quite flumoxing' screw or clip...

I would suggest not... You can pull each end separately IIRC

Thanks for the advice, gentlemen. Haynes is useful, but I found the bar is attached to the body, not the panel. Panel is off now - phew - and it was quite fun disconnecting all the cables. All that effort just to change the bulbs. I thought it would be as easy as changing the bulbs in the speedo and the digital display, but it wasn't.

I have one bulb gone in my PFL, and was planning to do it. On reflection, I can see everything perfectly well.

Thanks Biggriffin, shall do. Pic follows showing the aluminium locking bar, which has to be pulled down to release the climate change panel. Looks obvious now, but it cannot be seen with panel in place.

All you do is put a cable tie round each end leave its length down,gives you something to pull if need to remove again.

I attached 2 cable ties to the release bar, and reassembled. Then I found the LH temperature control was not lit, so I dismantled it all again to rectify. The cable ties were too hard to get hold off, so when I had it apart again I replaced them with 2 cable tie loops and a handle loop, as depicted. Fault was a bad bulb connection. I don't expect to dismantle it again, but you never know.
