2.2 dti speedo not working and p0500
« on: 29 July 2015, 08:12:51 »

Hello, haven't been on here for ages  :'(

As per title can someone help me out, only thing I can see that's gone wrong is the near side rear abs ring is damaged. If I change the shaft will this fix my problem???

Thanks in advance

Almost certainly. I had the same fault some years ago, reluctor ring was split and it was able to move out of alignment with the sensor. Apart for the speedo failing, you should have ABS and TC lights showing on the dash.

Easier to but a second half drive shaft and fit that.

The damage looks very minimal to me, any sign of sensor damage or is the ring physically split and/or teeth missing?

Changing the shaft didn't fix the problem  >:( >:( >:(

Checked the resistance on the sensors and they seem okay 1.5 ohms.

Could it be the abs ecu???

Right update, changed the abs ecu but light is still on. Do I have to get it programmed or will it be fine, it is second hand and it came from a 2.2dti as well.

Any light on the situation would be greatly appreciated as the van is going for the yearly test and need the light and speedo working  >:( >:( >:(

Thanks

Yeah it was manual same as mine.

Plugged it into a computer today but couldn't communicate with the ecu, this mean I need another ecu???
