What is the right price?
« on: 09 August 2015, 22:11:01 »

Firstly this isn't a For Sale thread and I haven't seen a car.

What I'm thinking is, I like my 2.6 but I'd like a 3.2, yes I could convert - I even have a 50k 3.2 engine. The problem is I'm also thinking LPG, now as someone rightly suggested - why not buy one converted? Well this brings me full circle.

What would be I looking at paying for a 3.2 Estate, Manual, LPG, with a high level of trim? I know what mine is worth as is, that isn't what I am asking and I'm not even in the market for another car, yet. I'm just weighing up my options.

3.2 Estate, Manual, LPG, with a high level of trim?

Only option is ex-police poverty spec.

All other 3.2s are autos.  :y

Also finding 3.2 Estate already converted will be fairly tricky, not many about. Better option is to find a good one, then convert it.

But a decent one will be hard to find :(

Doesn't exist. All manual 3.2s are ex police and therefore GLS spec or lower, the only actual upgrades being heavy duty springs/shocks, xenons, and uprated alternator.

However you can readily add all the Elite toys with the exception of a sunroof. Even memory mirrors are a possibility if you change both front door looms and the mirrors for Elite items...

Thanks Tunnie, I didn't realise that. From what you've said, I'd be as well sticking with the car I have and converting it, if it really matters that much. I suppose I could look our for another 2.6 manual estate with LPG and trim and then convert that. It might be better option.

Cheers Harris. To be honest, most toys I'm not overly bothered about, I miss cruise, but already have the stalk - so that should be an easy bolt on with a bit of friendly Tech2 time. I might stick with what I have, if I LPG it, then I'm keeping it, thus will probably 3.2 it.

I can vouch for the initial LPG fitting (front end), assuming this is the car I think ;)

It's sounds almost ideal, like I said, whilst I'd love to, I'm not in the position to buy another car yet. I'm down to 3 (excluding the wife's), once I'm down to 2, I'll be on the look out for another one. I've not decided which RWD it will be though, an Omega or another MX5.
