Afraid there is no best. There are lots of good products out there for machine and hand polishing. AutoGlym High Resin polish gets good reviews for use by hand  :y

As someone who's never (ever) polished a car, I'm not really qualified to answer this, however I think its just a question of how big your budget is. I know that Dodo Juice and Poorboys brands seem to get a lot of airtime on detailing forums etc.

If it were me - well I wouldn't be buying any as I don't wax my car, but hypothetically if it were me, I'd read some reviews, decide on a budget and just buy what's best at that price point. At a guess though, I'd say refining your technique and putting the time & hard work will be more important than the brand you choose.  8)

Ha! I suppose I've never owned a car I thought worth waxing  :-X. I'll tend to put them through the Hot Wax car wash every so often. At the moment the CDX is doing double duty as Executive Transport Solution and Skip, so not much call to keep her spotless.

As for my time, my wife and I are completely renovating our house at the moment, so that keeps me busy enough (and penniless).  ;D

I wash and polish mine every week or so.. My car is parked half on path and half on road and its fun and games drying the car off and squirting polish on while traffic is going past but I still do it 😁

I tend to use a colour back polish first, then a 2 or 3 lairs of Autoglym super resin polish to get the shine.
Finish it off with Autoglims Extra gloss protection  :y

Start with a covering of Valet Pro - Citrus Pre Wash. Followed by Valet Pro - PH Neutral Snow Foam. Then jet rinse off. Many times no need for polishing, but if you insist try.. Collinite 476S - Super Doublecoat Auto Wax...  :y :y

Dont use MER as it leaves a coating that yellows with age in the sunlight

Ive been using some different products . Instead of washing , i dust the car off and then use the spray wax 'Simonez . Saves a hell of lot of time , a large micro fibre cloth to finish it off as you go  :y
