The Man from U.N.C.L.E car. A blue Oldsmobile if memory serves.

It was called a 'Thrush Buster'...... ;D

Worth a pretty penny if boxed and complete with the Waverley rings. :y

 :y

I use to have this one and the box  :'(

BAYCO construction kits, moulded plastic tiles and metal rods that slotted into holes in the base. Late 50's and then Meccano in the early 60's, hours of fun and educational toys.

The great benefil with things like Meccano, etc., was that dad could "help", and especially with the Triang train set, junior could sometimes get to play with it, too!
Seriously, surely our kids are missing out on a lot with their solitary keyboard activities? Social skills/interaction, for sure......  :(

I have built loads of plastic models over the years from the fifties on. I would love to make some now (swmbo has other ideas) but I can't justify the price. I love the 1/32 scale stuff. There are also some fantastic die-cast static aircraft models, they look stunning, but I can't justify the expense. :(
Recently in Dorset, I saw a fantastic rendition of a VC10 in wood...it looked great, but...£80 :o

Went from Maccano to Lego and Airfix kits to taking everything to pieces to work out how it worked, work out the design limitations and how I would make it better and then put it back together again. :y As a petrolhead read Hot Car every month and used to drool over Ford Anglia engine transplants, sit up and beg Ford Popular hot rods etc., etc. In my teens it was radios and electronics, so no surprise at a 4 year MOD electronics apprenticeship and also no surprise that all my career has been in R&D. Great times are when you are on the leading edge and you can see you are making a difference in making things better than anybody else, has to date, in the world. :y :y :y
