Is water circulating?
« on: 27 August 2015, 16:16:25 »

I wonder how can I assure that the water is circulating properly.

First, is thermostat opening ok?
Second, is the water pump doing its job?
Third, how to find if radiator or expansion tank are blocked?
Fourth, HBV can block the normal water circulation?

I need to check for all of these things, give an "hand" please :)

It's supposed to see the water circulating in the expansion tank when revving the engine?

Use your hand and feel if top pipe to rad gets hot from when you start cold engine, also would help to know what problem you are having.

Water in the expansion tank will stay fairly static, won't see it moving.

What is the issue you are having?

Water is missing, temperature is normal 95ºc. But, a leak can be spotted at the alternator bay.
Aside from that it take ages to cool down probably HBV.

The big hose gets hot and the water in the expansion tank stays static.

At the back end of inlet manifold there is a plastic connector were all of the three rubber tubes goes to.
That circular piece has a trail of some kind of waste... probably due to water leakage!
What's your opinions on the matter?

Well if 3 hoses are fitted and its leaking mayo,
1 find missing hose and not autobox breather
2 clean out breathers  :y
3 check coolant pipes to throttle body ,could be dripping from there.

Check with hand for cold spots on the rad , mind your hands on moving parts . If cold spots when engine up to temp then you have blocked rad .

Check for leaking under plenum from coolant bridge . Or weeping stat/ transfer pipe .

Ok fresh news, top radiator hose hot with air inside...
No pressure on the hose!
Expansion tank with pressure water gets all out if opened...

What's happening?

Its going to bubble over if youve had engine running at working temp, its a sealed system,so by removing cap you allow the water to escape because its under pressure at the time,if hoses were hard that would lead to h/g failure,

I believe you've misunderstood...
So I've gone to supermarket, about 5km five minutes latter when I came back to the car there it was a trail of water behind the car and a pool of water at the ground.
Opened the bonnet and while running big hose without any pressure but tank with pressure! What does this mean? If squeeze the big hose can ear the water flowing back to the expansion tank.
Big hose was hot...
