Thermostat
« on: 06 September 2015, 21:02:25 »

Hi all,Think after changing the cam gaskets there is a possibility that the thermostat O ring might have failed.I've been losing water for a long time but had never found out why or where, but i noticed in the V around the thermostat quite a lot of white with a pinkish tinge crunchy powder. So i just emailed my local VX dealer for a price for a thermostat and 3 O rings there reply £63.30.Seems pretty expensive for what it is.Your thoughts would be appreciated?By the way my thermostat seems to function ok, but if i have to change O ring might well change it too.Pattern parts?

Transfer pipe comes with both seals so no need to buy extras  :y

Thanks for the info, what about the thermostat?Do you think i should replace the housings as well.Could i not just replace the transfer pipe O rings and the thermostat without housing and its gasket or O ring.Is it both gasket and O ring?

your needing number 9 + 10 + 12

10 is your thermostat gasket
9 is the thermostat housing
12 is your transfer pipe

Wise words time.
when changing thermostat, a spare transfer pipe is a worthy thing to have incase, the old one is stuck or breaks in the housing  :)
