In the summer of 2015 I bought 2 more Omegas to replace 2 sick Omegas. I have scrapped the Opel 2.5, which had  mortal rust in the n/s rear shock absorber mounting. I had planned to scrap the 2002 2.2 with head gasket failure, but SWMBO ruled I must attempt to repair it. Following SIR Philbutt's excellent maintenance guide, and with help from OOF members, I have successfully replaced the head gasket.

The car is now parked on my lawn, handbrake off, wheels chocked by bricks. I have changed the oil, filter, and coolant. Car is not insured, MOT has expired, and is on a SORN note. It will remain there until another car breaks down.

What else should I do to preserve it?

You lot are so pessimistic.....don't know why you ever had Omega's.
Why don't you just buy a Ford KA and go on their forum

One of those covers that just fit over the turret is my suggestion.
Keep her on a regular timetable of start & warm-up sessions
