Pioneer mvh-180ubg
« on: 17 September 2015, 00:42:45 »

Can anyone help.....

I'm contemplating sticking a  Pioneer mvh-180ubg into my 2003 2.2 CD and was wondering whether it will output anything to the MID.

I've seen that an autoleads connector will plug into the back for the steering wheels controls, but can't see anything for the display.
Regarding this, the manual is totally useless!

TIA

Steve

So will the mid just go blank when the pioneer is switched on ? or will the date stay on display?

Thx

Mid will continue to work normally, but simply won't show any HU data :y

As you say Time and Date may disappear with the HU on, if so you can fix that by diss'ing the HU display feed.

Further to this, the Pioneer arrived this morning, and have just discovered that you can't even control it using steering controls !!!!!
Pics in the manual are for a different unit :-(
Now looking at another Kenwood unit but it doesn't use the old Autoleads loom - More fun and games :-)

Sony are about the easiest to use with steering controls...

I have a Sony H/U that takes steering controls and puts the display on the MID too... I would have it in my Omega but I can't work out how to adapt the elites wiring to work with the Autoleads unit/convertor box thingy, it also works with a Blaupunkt unit I have too by using a different lead that connects to the unit...

The Alpine IVA-D310r (was top of the range in its time) I have installed at the moment also uses steering controls but Itend to not use them, as its easier to move my arm/hand 6 inch than its is to try and work out which button does what....
