Parts to transfer
« on: 22 September 2015, 00:11:08 »

Hi
I've just bought a 2000 2.5TD CD Estate, I have access to a 1996 mini FL 3.0 Elite Estate.
Which bits can be easily transferred across from the Elite?

I was hoping that the leather seats, auto dip mirror, adjustable wiper stalk and gearbox could be done.

Gearbox possibly... Depends on bell housing bolt pattern...

Mirror... Should be ok but might need wiring mod.

Seats are a non starter due to airbag/restraint differences, also heaters are controlled differently.

Otherwise you're looking at Wheels and body panels except bonnet/bumpers/headlights.

I believe its yes for the gearbox, but no for the bell housing, you have to retain your existing diesel bellhousing and bolt the petrol box to it.

Elite now gone.  Bought an X-Type 4x4.  If there had been an Omega 4x4 I would have bought that instead.  We really liked the Omega, but I wanted 4x4.

Just out of interest, what's the colour of both cars? Many colours changed from PFL to FL.

Elite is Black
TD is Burgundy

A F/L of 2000 vintage should already have a variable wiper arm?

My 2002 didn't originally. But then I'm sure they were drunk when speccing mine, none of it matches the build sheet and theres a lot of random additions and subtractions, and I don't think the first owner did them...

2002 was year when no variable and no rain sensing wipers yet. This is what my 3.2 was, but I've put a learning relay in it.

But 2000, which is same as my 2.2 has variable.  :y
