Racing
« on: 26 September 2015, 22:28:40 »

The road which follows directly on from that on which I live is a steady down hill straight about 3/4 mile long with houses/side roads on the right hand side and a grass bank on the left.It ends in a dead end with a road on the right about 25yds up from this for continuing on to housing estate.Yesterday whoever is responsible for such things placed on of those signs that illuminate to inform you of your speed about 100yds up from this right turn.So now there are quite a good few of the big exhaust brigade driving down our street and as they round the left hand bend onto the straight they hit the throttle  to see how high a speed reading they can get from the speed sign before standing on the brakes and returning for another run.I do know that complaints have been made so whether the police will cruise the area to check on this remains to be seen.

Oddly enough when I saw them doing this while out with the dog it was one of the thoughts that popped into my head ::)but I dismissed it as the downhill slope of the road would skew his figures ;D

Quick phone the oof driving school. And report bad driving. Also tell the bear,a test area has been found, to test his 0-60 time. ;)

The one installed in the next village to us was removed after just a week as it had the same results as what you have described. In this case though it was on the end of a straight bit of road as you entered the village on a stretch of road known locally as mad mile::)

Move the speed indicator closer to the corner, take away the warning signs re the corner and hope the tw*ts go straight through the hedge and into a custom built moat. :D

Must admit that me, my Bro and some mates used to do this through a village on our training route....

....until my mother (who worked in  the police station ) got wind of the complaints from the yokels about 3 "hooligan cyclists racing through their peaceful village" ::)
