A bit extreme to break a car for the sake of a £30 seal ........ it cost me £200 to have mine fitted for me.

£200 well spent, far easier than lugging a great lump of auto box about  :y

Same prob  with mine  . . . but too long in the tooth to be rolling around under cars now. As I have the silver 3.2 elite I am looking at parting with it as it is.

Was hoping to get a guide to what I'd get for it from that one  . .  but seems it's a "breaking" ad  :-\ :-\

Won't be breaking mine though

If the seller were to list it correctly "fast black omega" it would sell for a premium.

I'd have liked to list it on here to break but haven't got 200 posts!

I agree as the bodywork is great and the interior almost pristine. If it was only the crankshaft seal I'd go for it but P0420 codes both sides, crankshaft leak, cambelt replacement due, short in the drivers seat burnt through the leather, aircon not working despite regular top ups, won't read the single cd so no sat nav. It was great car and I loved the handling and performance but with all the faults not saleable and at 22 mpg not sensible as a commuter for 10 miles each way!

Sad but time to move on.

Sorry to hear that and a real shame, but understand your reasoning and there is only a certain amount of cash that can be placed into a bottomless pit.

Sad to see another 1 get broken up  :(

It is indeed very sad. I took the wheels off yesterday and it was quite upsetting to see it gathering dust in the hangar. At least it's dry so not rotting away. There was no interest to sell as a whole car so it's a Johnny Cash "One Piece at a Time" in reverse. The car was a lovely drive but just not economical, especially when it developed a front end knock which turned out to be the top strut mounts - that was the final nail in the coffin. Bodywork is great so hoping in time its bits will find good homes and make someone happy. Realised I need 250 posts to sell here not 200 so I'd best get typing  ::)

A few more days at nattering and you may yet be able to get her flogged complete. Admittedly it may then get broken up for parts by the new owner. Either way, hope you find a good price for the sale of it, either complete or as bits Merlindriver  :)

I might just keep the battery topped up so I can periodically escape the office, lock myself away and bask in the pleasures of the Bose sound system.  ;D
