MAF Sensor, will I go cheap?
« on: 14 October 2015, 00:43:39 »

Hi, I have been looking for a cheap Mass Air Flow Sensor and I have found quite some.
But I'm having some troubles deciding to go cheap, less expensive and Bosch.
As far as concerns prices starting 30€ to 350€. There is a HUGE discrepancy about prices I really need your opinion.

What about cleaning? Should I clean it first or... buy it?

Not tried cleaning one tbh, No doubt someone who has tried will reply.  :y

You could always try buying a genuine used MAF if money is tight, Although I wouldn't know how readily available they are in Portugal  :-\

Have you tried a breaker on here? I thought the 3.0 MAF was fairly robust, or am I confused? :-\

'Breaker' is an English (probably only British) slang term meaning 'scrap' or 'used'. Basically Lazydocker is suggesting you get a second hand, used part, which will probably last many years, and cost a fraction of the price of a new one.  :)

Me, personally I'd feel dirty if I paid more than £10 for one, and certainly not £300!  :)

If Portugal is anything like Spain then the chances of finding a petrol engined Omega in a desguace( car recycling business) is slim. There not being a demand for the parts the cars just get processed. Most Omegas are diesels.

Indeed, it's impossible to find an omega in scrapyard!
Most likely diesel if you find it...

Although I see you have a MAF now, next time you need a part, try Steve at Omega Spare Parts.  His prices are reasonable, he ships overseas and I'm sure that you (and other overseas members) would find hime very helpful.  :y

Worth bookmarking his site for future reference.  ;)
