Anyone knowledgeable on Mk1 Cortina works racing cars?
« on: 18 October 2015, 17:05:45 »

I have let the cat out of the bag by suggesting elsewhere that one thing that the Ford works team tried and understandably pretty quickly abandoned was a hydraulically operated boot lid that went up when you applied the brakes. I am 99% certain I saw it on a works car (possibly ex works in the hands of someone like Brian Robinson)

Search of the Internet hasn't turned up a reference or photo. Anyone else remember or know of it?

It was trailed by various manufacturers, as a form of air braking, was banned.

The nearest you will see to that theory, is on nascar, they had a flap on the roof which deploys when a car spins to stop rollover.
