Dodgy starting fault-any ideas please?
« on: 19 October 2015, 08:03:02 »

Hi Folks

Hoping someone can assist here.  When I first start the car it chugs and seems to be having difficulty in getting going but within 10 seconds and or so it finds its feet and ticks over just fine. Then driving is perfectly normal and smooth as silk.

The cam sensor has been suggested as a fault but I don't get any other symptoms such as drop in power etc.

Any ideas please?

Many thanks.

My 2.2 had this fault - starting hesitantly, stopping, starting and stopping again, finally starting and idling sweetly. My 3.2 did the same 3 years ago. In both cases changing the battery cured it.
