They're a pain... Fortunately our pets are ok with them.

But I take your fireworks and raise this.... It was like living on the set of a war film!!!

I see your froggy rosbif love-in, and raise you this:

That was our daily and nightly routine for 6 months.  The engineer demolition range going boom boom boom nearly everyday near Chez Guffer is actually soothing.

Felt a bit like that... Choppers going over at around 50 feet... Thunder flashes, rounds, the lot. SWMBO actually looked on tinterweb to see if we were being invaded as we weren't advised it was happening.

 ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's a strange feeling but I find a slight comfort in the noise of "boom boom boom", helicopters (such as the Chinook) and distant gunfire.  However that IDF alarm still makes me want to hit the deck.  Annoyingly some of the factories on my cycle route to work in France use the same alarm.  Fighting the instinct to hit the deck when you are cycling at 20mph is interesting.

No issues with the exercise. Or with the noise TBH, although if you've ever had Chinooks, Apaches and several other different choppers passing over at around 15 minute intervals for 5 hours it does wear thin!!

Our issue is that, once again, the CO has failed in his promise to notify us that there were going to be activities that would be noisy and disturb our lives, a promise that was made when they occupied the base after we bought our house!!

Brings back memories as a teenager. Find a fresh cowpat insert 2 or 3 bangers, light fuses and retire so everybody gets a bit or so I've heard. ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D
