Display flickering/not working
« on: 03 November 2015, 13:26:13 »

Hello

I am looking for help fixing my display flickering/not working.

I have opel omega B 1997 with MID early type display.

It worked fined but the problem started after disconnecting and reconnecting battery few months ago. Since then it flickers on and off like a disco but most of the time's it is not showing anything. Also I discovered when the sunlight came on from one angles I could see the time so I think it might just be display backlight problem? or do I have to change the display itself?

Don't know if it has anything to do with it but also in last few months there has been like 3 occasions when I turn the car on and I notice head lights small flickering like they go darker for a second and then back, but it usually stops fast after I start driving or engine warms up.

Thanks in advance.

I would start with the battery charging guide... might be early signs of an alternator problem :-\

There are bulbs on the rear of the MID for backlighting. They do blow occasionally.

Could this not be caused by the battery terminal crimp?
