What about the common issue of broken springs.

Are they that common? I recovered dozens of Fiestas, Lagunas, Mondeos and C3s with broken springs, but never a Vectra.

I had two go in 50,000 on mine
2.2 is on it's 3rd set of rear springs in just under 100,000 in my ownership.
Not surprised, either way... ::)

Given you had no working shocks for ages, the poor springs took a beating ;D

My wife's C 3 has had both front springs break, oddly enough both broke while the car was on the drive overnight.
