WiFi speaker help please
« on: 26 December 2015, 11:31:32 »

The lad spent more then a few quid on me this year and asked father Christmas to send me a Wifi speaker  :y :D

It is controlled via the Muzo App on my gayphone and works pretty well tbh.

When I try and connect it to my homegroup / media centre via Wifi, it initially started to show on the phone screen the track names. When I tried to get it to show albums, it spat me out and now even though you can see the media centre on the phone screen, it shows no play lists / artists / albums or tracks  :(
No matter what button I press, it will not show anything what is on the media centre  :(

The lad tried to connect via his blackberry and could see everything on the media centre BUT the music  ???

Anybody any ideas on this please ?

I should also add if it helps that the 2 pc's and the media centre are hard wired together and you can see each others files via the network.
My pc and media centre downstairs are running Win 7 with Ms Essentials in the background.
The lads pc is running Win 10.

Could be a number of things, initial thoughts for me would be Homegroup permissions, Media Source sharing properties, Firewall permissions, etc.

Sounds like a permissions or a workgroup issue.  Trial and error should sort it out :y

Suspect we can ignore the MCE bit, its probably a non Windows device not properly talking to Windows devices.

What protocol is the unit using to talk to Windows?

A quick update on this ...............

Just finished my list of chores left for me by the missus  ::) and decided to stick the Tunin app on from the phone.

While playing with it, I noticed that 1, out of about 6 albums is now showing and playing okay  :o

I'll have a look later at the properties of this album and the rest / other mp3 folders and see if there is any difference  :y

TTFN  ;)

Well tried pretty much everything I can think of (other then t wating it with Percy the persuader) and still know luck  :(

I've got 2 pc's and the media centre linked up and can access / play anything but as soon as I try and go wifi to the speaker, it just goes tits up  ::)

I've had Airfoil and Musicbee recommended by a couple of people who have had this problem.
Anybody out there in OOF land use these ?
