Rear Offside Door Central Locking not working
« on: 03 January 2016, 13:28:05 »

Here's one that's got me stumped !

I changed the drivers door lock on my '03, 2.2 TDI Estate as it was so worn the key wouldn't work in the door. After changing the tumbler mechanism and several re-assembly's I got the Drivers' door finished.

However, the rear passenger door central locking had suddenly stopped working (it was fine up till then). I couldn't be arsed to do anything more than check the fuses 12,13 & 20 . . .  all fine, so I've lived with the immobilised door lock since then.
My New Years' resolution was to fix the darn thing, and suspecting the solenoid was the culprit, bought a complete lock from those nice people at Heathrow. Stripping off the door card in the rain I tested the new solenoid only to find that didn't work either. Another fuse check . . . all fine . . . now I'm stumped.
Is there a connector in the front door or something I could have disturbed when fixing that lock ?

Any ideas anyone ?

Have you checked out the wiring to it,,,as the wiring gets a hammering with door opening and closing as it goes into the door from the pillar...could be worth a try,, :y :y
