..... And yes it's ends up it was the pedal switch.  Now just need to find whatever it is that's causing chaos with the electrics
 rather crusie control not working ( ....j

That could still be down to the brake light switch. The fact that the brake lights work isn't an indication that the new switch is correctly set ...... try pulling it out another click

Err? It's been a while ...... IIRC it's just the plunger bit ie the bit the pedal touches.
