Cadillac Catera
« on: 17 July 2008, 19:42:57 »

A friend of mine imported a Cadillac Catera from the USA a few years ago and now wants to sell it.

Reading the Wikipedia page on this model it looks pretty similar to an Omega but with a 3.0 V6

I was just wondering if anyone else had ever owned one and if so as the motor was made over here would spares and servicing be a problem??

Engine spares aren't really a problem, it's close to an X30XE (3.0 V6)  but with dis packs on each bank that are the same as the Y32SE (3.2 V6) so it's 'somewhere' between the two UK spec engines.

No rust whatsoever!!

It originated from California

Obviously it's an LHD ...but I could live with that

Low mileage too  :y

iirc its the same block... but the 3.0 V6 is a DBW unit, unlike the cable driven ones we have...

Yeah, it had to be OBD2 compliant in the states unlike here at the time.  The non-DBW system on the miggy is not.
