Hi all, have been unable to use my Vauxhall Omega Elite due to illness, went out to start it up used fob to open nothing so used the key would not unlock, obviously the battery is dead but should not the key in the door open it? thanks for your time.  :y

I agree with Big Al, the key in the driver lock should unlock it no problem....

The key will even override the deadlocks...

I seem to remember from previous situations  , that in some cases when using the key manually, the door pin only moves upwards a tad, but the door will then open .  ;)

That's right Al, the door unlocks but the pin doesn't lift as normal.  :y

But it does take a bit of force to unlock  ;)

If by a bit of force you mean turn the key until you think it's going to snap.plus a quarter turn, then yes it takes a bit of force :y

Yes!  ;D ;D I gave in the first time it happened to me & got in via the boot, powered the car up on the boot courtesy light enough to use the fob  :y

Thinking about this it might be worth getting a spare key cut, not programmed, just to open the door in emergency.I have one that I hide away.
