The cheap ones on eBay are terrible. The only ones I can find to use are the monaro but they'd cost more than the car :(

Many have been down this route, and the general feeling is no, not worth it, don't bother.

There's plenty of spring/suspension options (if not as many as for Vectras Astras Corsas etc) out there. Depending how far you want to go stripping it out you may see significant weight reductions and the consequential ride height change. (see that link from the guy in the Netherlands who's stripped his Omega) this will impact suitability of shocks and springs.   :)

I had the cheap ones from eBay on a old vectra b, the ride was crap, really crashing over nothing, so I don't see them being a option on a heavier car.

There are companies who can make a custom suspension for your vehicle. Consider how such as Caterham, Ginetta etc actually make their suspension (and any other car maker of course) they have to sit there, work out the sprung mass, unsprung mass and so on and design springs and dampers to work. Arrange a meeting with one/some of these suspension gurus and you could get yourself something made up. But what the effect to your bank balance... that's another matter  :y

However, on the other hand there's the chance once you've worked out the desired spring and damper rate, there's already springs out there which exist which meet said specs already. The front shocks would most likely be the biggest issue, given that Omega dampers are an all in one affair, the damper unit itself isn't a separate cartridge. However, once again, looking at the talented chap in the Netherlands, he's gone and overcome this issue and made his own dampers, too. (with Land rover droplinks I recall!)

Steinmetz, Irmscher and others do make aftermarket suspension bits to fit, however. suggested 30mil front and 20mil at rear maximum drop, if memory serves. The rear is already pretty low, you see.  :)

Gaz should be able to make you a set actually, there prices are faily reasonable.

I'm guessing you want coilovers to slam the car? If you do, don't forget it'll start to shred rear tyres, mines -40mm with spax springs and the rear camber is badly wearing the tyres. You can get camber bushes that'll be about £160 plus fitting

Ohh didn't know that, I was wondering how do they adjust, hope you don't have to drop the arm down everytime to adjust?

Jack, I've seen that guy on driftworks but haven't taken a lot of notice as mines an estate and the rear springs arnt the hard bit to lowering.

They adjust when you fit them, but you can only fit one per side otherwise they will lock up the suspension...

Thanks for the tip, I was thinking of ordering them. I had read the inners are for camber and outters for toe but the omega is slightly adjustable in that area!

Alwell I may go for them in that case, only order the 2... Half the price, yay
