hi my hubby has a vauxhall omega 3 litre petrol. it is chugging on low revs. he has had the crankshaft sensor, petrol filer, and spark plugs all changed. but it hasn't cured the problem anybody any ideas what could be up with it. ps when he puts the boot down it runs perfectly

the diagnostic test showed a faulty crankshaft sensor he put a new one in that he got from a vauxhall garage it didi,t cure the problem

Any codes now?

Also, do you have any live data capability? If so, BLMs for idle? Should be about 120-135 for both banks.

Could you give us a little more clue as regards 'chugging'? If its a misfire then HTs and DIS pack next port of call... was there any mention of oil in the plugwells when the sparks were changed? Wouldn't be the first time someone missed it.

it is misfiring when starting off but if you accelerate hard it is grand

Pull the plug leads and see if there is water/oil in the plug wells.

+1 on plugs/leads/DIS pack, or oil/water in plugwels.
When I had oil in plugwels (broken camcover seals) and, consequently, poor leads, my experience was -> missfire when accelerating in low revs (below 2000rpm), and quite fine on higher revs.
