dashboard out
« on: 12 February 2016, 11:41:27 »

Hi guys
Has anyone taken a dashboard  out on a pfl omega, any advice, have a problem with
the heater matrix i think, water in footwell unable to hold its water level, just leaks into car, not worried how long it will take, car used now and again and can be laid up
previous reply was to cut the bottom of the dash in the drivers footwell, not sure about doing this
also trying to get at it from the front after taking out the radio and climate control panel, not sure if i can
     Cheers guys  ???

You don't need to take out the dash, or cut it, either.  :)

You can actually bend the dash back, right underneath, do the job. It will then push back with only the slightest crease barely visible inside the footwell.

Firstly check that the scuttle drains are clear, as blocked scuttle will soak the carpets  :y

Very true,  :y there's a few things to be checking / doing before you go changing the heather matrix.

Whilst checking scuttle drain is a quick, easy, free fix the Op does say car is unable to maintain coolant level. So something is clearly amiss somewhere along the line.Admittedly causes for this could be many and varied though!

As above, there is an easy way to do the job without removing the dash. Your car though so your call

Use the cheat/cut method - it really is simple and if you're careful it won't be noticeable when done.
