London emission Zone question
« on: 13 February 2016, 17:53:32 »

Hi guys
got a guy who wants to buy my Transit ( non LEZ compliant) for moving back to Ireland. He lives in North London .  he wants to buy the van from me &  drive it back to london & leave it parked at his house until he moves in a couple of weeks .

Question is : This van has never been in London  . .  .but will he be subject to the £100 per day penalty for every day it is parked there , or will it just be £100 in & £100 out.   My next door neighbour seems to think that for the first time the vehicle enters the zone ( having never been in there before) you get 28 days  before any penalties are incurred ,even driving it about  :-\

Any advice ?

yes TB   Low Emission Zone    . ..  £100 per day penalty I think  :-\

Edit:   ah  . . . "non compliant vehicles parked inside the LEZ are NOT required to pay the charge for that day"  :y

But remember it runs midnight to midnight so if driven either side of midnight it's 2 days ;)

Nope. Doesn't apply to cars.  :D

EDIT: Or anything that doesn't run on the devil's fuel, in fact. V8 Defender, anyone?

First offence for lez is a stern letter from Boris, second is a fine.
just sell him the van and back date re-registering's in his name by couple days,  eg he buys today you put Fridays date on the v5 and post it, then not your problem. O and before the OOF police etc start shouting, not every one has a frecking great halo.

I resemble that remark.  Esp after last nights blow-out down Tiffins - Crisps, starter and main :o.  Still, I know that, as from 20 mins ago, the Naga is no longer in me. Mummy!

OK. Another angle. How fast can you run? If you can outrun a Transit Luton (not hard), then no problem. :y
