Car insurance,death in family

My uncle passed away wednesday night,my aunt doesnt drive,and me and parents are down here in trying to sort stuff out,what does she need to do so car stays legal as its kept on road.

Sorry for your loss.

Best bet is to ring insurers and explain the situation,  see if they'll cover it while you get sorted.

You wont be the first or last. If all else fails if your folks have somewhere to keep it, take it home and store it then arrange moving it on as required.  And make sure your aunt is happy before you take any steps. HTH.

I'm sorry to hear that, our thoughts are with you and especially your Aunt.


Its probably not insurered, so storing it off road and SORN'ing until sold is probably the only legal answer.

Can't be sorned if parked on road, or council owned land, unless its on axle stands, then technically it's not parked on highway.

As the premium is paid up speak to the insurers... they are usually pretty good at helping in these circumstances, My Uncles remained insured as we told them it would not be driven regularly until the estate was processed, and they were happy with that.
