« on: 20 February 2016, 10:01:51 »

Morning

Is there a tag on forums about swapping front doors from FL to a PFL car?

Thanks in advance

Thanks    :y

Well that's a whole day of my life gone !!!

Very rusty drivers door needed replacing as letting rest of car down. Managed to get one with same paint coded door off a FL model.

Got old door off ok - stripped off interior panels.

Managed to unpick the wiring loom  after some difficulty - having to reconnect electrics first to put window back up to get to multi plugs - dropped window in first place so as to make carrying old door easier  ::)

Took a while to get old wiring out of replacement door but sussed it in the end.

Didn't take too long to wiring from old door back in as familiar with routing by then.

Took chuffing ages to get door hung again - I was working on my own as nobody in to help me so you can imagine the struggle with the weight of the door. Had to use a jack to lift up door but top would go in and not the bottom and vice versa - grrr.

Anyway all sorted and all electrics working but door lock button seems jammed now. So job for tomorrow.

Just need to swap bump strips - got old one off ok  :)
