Hi, I've bought an old 635 as a project, only trouble is its in Crewe and I'm in London (don't ask!). Should this be an problem for a '96 2.5 auto? Its full of old parts which will bump the weight up a lot as well

Any thoughts on good tow bars for miggys? (I'll be needing one anyway)

Miggys are fantastic for towing.

Will it phyically tow the bmw - yes no problems.
Will it legally tow the Bmw - Borderline.....You would need to check its weight  :-/

Add the weight of a trailer and spares and I'd say it'd be overweight. It'll certainly be well over the 85% weight but legally as long as the train weight placarded on the Omega (over 4 tonnes in my case)  is not exceeded you're unlikely to get in trouble. Try to move as much of the weight as possible into the boot of the omega for stability, and take it easy.

I bought an MV6 from Essex and went to hire a trailer to tow with my 3.0 estate, the trailer company wouldn't let me take the trailer saying it would be over weight (trailer with MV6 on). I would think the BM would be a similar weight to an Omega.

Would you not be better to use one of those two wheel trailers like the AA use and just lift the front wheels up and disconnect the prop  :question

problem is then that the car being towed MUST be legal - ie taxed etc ( i think)

Cheers guys, decided to just get the train up there & drive it back in the end. Still can't believe half the journey wasn't on an AA truck!

When I had my ex-plod 3.0 taken away, the scraper came round with a transit with a spec lift, lifted the front and oof he went, NO tax, MOT,

was a manual too.

A spec lift can to a vehicle withought MOT or Tax, I had an old mini project taken away like that, car.... no wings or doors, let alone an mot.
