please can anybody explain what this means, & how to rectify.. "Supplementary Restraint System warning lamp does not illuminate." one of last years advisories. others were two brake pipes, done those.

I assume that will be commonly known as the 'airbag warning light'.

First thing to do is pop the instrument cluster out and check that it hasn't been removed to hide a fault.

Yep sounds like the warning lamp bulb has been removed or has failed.  Easy enough job to get instrument cluster out to check/fit new bulb (10 mins at most) - there's a howto on here.

I thought that non illumination of air bag light was now a failure. :-\

They put it on hold a couple of years back, so guessing its still on hold, or up to the Tester.  :-\
