If we are talking Grannies ... I thought this the best tow-car ever .. until I got the 3.2 Omega

Add in 4x4 and it would have been...  Closest you'll get to that in the GM stable would be to fit the 4x4 Commodore gubbins to the Monaro... V8, 4x4 and a tidy coupe all in one car... Would tow 2100kgs too 8)

Seeing that pic has brought back fond memories, had a humble 2.0  Ghia (Pinto engine) and a RS tailgate spoiler. Loved it but a bit basic compared to the Desmond. :y

At 160 bhp, that engine was a blinder.:y

puts 175 bhp for a 2.5 Omega into perspective.

Why?  :-\
As a teenager I had a friend who idolised the 280 Capri.  Posters all over his bedroom and in awe of the phenomenal performance.
I have always had a nagging sense that I was missing something so for me it does put it in perspective  ;)

Ah, Sorry!  I was going to say that the Omega way outdid the Capri in terms of torque, then I remembered that the V6 doesn't have any!  ;D
