Interesting car, but I reckon the fastest car in the UK is BS. It's giving away 300bhp to some modified GTR's. And they can execute faster gear changes.

Although you probably couldn't bring the dog in a gtr  ;D

Interesting enough programme spun out to last an hour with ads. Unsurprising outcomes. Some interesting contrasts. How quick was that rear bike wheel change!

I had to smile at the horde of people servicing the F1 car and one man doing same for motorbike.

I'm still surprised at how much faster the F1 car is in real terms

It would have been a much close contest with Rossi and a proper Moto GP bike.

I was surprised how close the bike was in all other aspects. Cornering on 4 wheels with aerodynamic downforce is clearly the big advantage in getting round the track, but in all other aspects, I suspect the car is as hampered by its' weight as it is boosted by its greater power, aerodynamic efficiency and grip.

Indeed. Guy is a seriously quick rider, but he isn't world class, nor was his bike. It wasn't even running on slick tyres on the track.
The whole thing was very unscientific anyway tbh. Which I think was borne out by the result showing the bike not that far off the F1 car.
I think in the real world, the car advantage would have been enormous, but that would have made a much less watchable programme.
In my view though, the car may be be much faster, but bikes and bike racing is infinitely more exciting, and that is the most important thing at the end of the day.

Would have been interesting to know what the power to weight ratios were.

I would guess the bike to be just over 200 bhp and around 175kg. Car, around 800bhp and 600 kg.
So approx. 1150 bhp per tonne for the bike and approx. 1350 bhp per tonne for the car (if my maths is correct ?), so not too far apart.
The cars big advantages are the amount of rubber it has in contact with the the ground and its downforce at higher speeds.
