These are not popular in UK, aren't they?

Of course they are. There are lots of them about and that is why they are cheap. Plus, even the the common faults are both boring and easily fixed. All this is why Ford has been the mass-market manufacturer for 100 years.

I just don't like the Focus very much.

Worth a punt or money pit? 12 months MOT

http://tinyurl.com/hdtprr3
Price reduced by £200. Buy it.  ;D

An automatic V8 Audi with a known gearbox problem? See my post on 25th March.  It's not just a NO, but a Hell no, not while there's still a hole in my arse no. And that's without the other issues which are par for the course.
Not you...Opti. Such trivial faults are easily remedied with an unlimited budget.  :)

I quite enjoy throwing the one I've got around,it suits the lanes around here but could do with more oomph as its only a 1.4 :y

I just don't like the Focus very much.
Bloody hopeless, useless things. Gutless, piss poor handling, uncomfortable, generally poorly specced.  I really can't think of anything nice to say about one.

Its the only car we've had that we both couldn't wait to be shot of.  And as it happens, the only brand new car she has ever had.

There is also the styling, which after 17 years of daily viewing is  still hideous. And on a hatchback the luggage space is so poor I wonder why they bothered engineering a bootlid.

At least Ford don't fit a fuse box and ECUs in the floor directly under the leak. That's a VAG design feature, which still affects undelivered cars. Seeing dead Phaetons dragged off the boat and onto the quayside is interesting.

That must do the running gear the world of good ;D

Also a good incentive for collecting your shiny new car straight from the factory...

I must say, this ones goes well, rides/handles nicely and being a Ghia with leather is pretty well specced for a family trolley, especially an 18 year old one... importantly everything works, even the aircon 8)

And whilst the boot might not fit an Omega Tailgate, it isn't that far off the Omega saloon...

I miss the heated seats and the absolute power delivery of the manual 3.2... I never thought I would sell the white one, but once I made that decision, I doubt that I will look back, and doubt I will own another Omega. And that I actually find quite liberating :)

In defence of the Focus, the hatch bootspace did dramatically improve around mid 00's, making it almost useful.  Still suffered from appalling (lack of) power, comfort and handling when compared to its competition.

Even the current Focus suffers all the same issues as the early ones with respect to comfort and handling.  I will concede that the little 1l turbo is quite an impressive power plant, being able (just) to lug around the Focus' fat, heavy bulk.

I'm surprised I bought TBE, based on the fact:

a) Its a Vauxhall, and I keep swearing I'll never have another
b) I've had a few Omegas, and am quite bored of them
c) At the time, we had the Bullet and the rather excellent Rover, so didn't really need another car.

But like you, I really don't think I'll have another, but brings us to that age old problem, what next.  I do have a rather insane itch for a later L322 RR that isn't going away.
