Wanted - V6 oil pan
« on: 25 March 2016, 20:05:16 »

As above.

I need the steel oil pan for my 2003 2.6 V6 Elite.

I think the oil pan is the same for all the V6s but I don't have access to TIS so may be completely wrong. The Elites have an oil level sensor - not sure if all V6s do :-\

I have had an offer of a sump from a 3.2 by "ianb2405".

Two questions

Will a 3.2 oil pan fit my 2.6?

Does anyone know ianb2405? A member since 04 September 2015 but has never posted any posts on the forum :-\

Sumps see the same. :Y

Does it matter weather or not he has posted, he has the parts you need, at a cheaper price than new.

He seems perfectly genuine - right up to the moment when he asked me to make a payment to a BACS account number and I realised that I know nothing about him.

Having just read, a post in the newbie section, that 1st offer might not be a good sump. :-X

It might not be - but for £15 it is worth a punt.

I had to fit a new drain plug to the oil pan that is currently fitted because the threads had started to go on the plug. The plug seems to be made of softer stuff than the threaded insert in the oil pan so I am reasonably confident that I will be able to (carefully) drill the plug out and salvage the threads in the oil pan.

Pm your address and I will post you a fresh sump plug gratis. I have a couple spare. ;)

Do not buy that £15 sump as it's Donald.

Sorry - got sidetracked trying to mix work and baby's nappy changing.

Yes please - a new sump plug will be required and would be most gratefully received.

I will send you a PM.
