pictured in yesterdays " The Press " York were a picture of the two oldest Vauxhalls in existence. the eldest(1903) being owned by a guy from York, a 3hp that cost just under £ 155 when new. it was apparently driven with the passengers sat on the front seats & the driver in the rear.

On a slightly differant note, if any are interested and in the area, The Vauxhall Heritage centre should be open on 10th April, usually from around 10am. There is normally a good burger to be had and an impromptue auto jumble in the car park

There's a certain fascination with really old engineering.  :y Really old cars like that are of a certain interest, whereas older modern cars just look dated.

It was apparently driven with the passengers sat on the front seats & the driver in the rear.

Since my marriage many many years ago, all of my cars have been steered from the driving seat but controlled from the passenger seat.  ::)
From her reactions, I'm sure Mrs YZ has her own set of foot controls.  :)
