If you need a 7 seater it's a pretty rapid one with the Focus 2.5T engine Link

S-Max I think looks nicer than Galaxy due to its slightly lower rear roof line it looks less "boxy".Advert reads a bit oddly as in two places it states 5 seats where S-Max's are all 7 seaters as far as I know, and towards bottom of advert there is the caveat that the specs given are for the latest model and not necessarily for the vehicle being advertised :-\

As per the Zafira, SMax rear seats are NOT suitable for adults... ok adults might fit in them at a squeeze, but in a half decent rear end shunt, they'll probably wind up dead or thereabouts. Boot space is woeful too unless the seats are folded flat, at which point, they become an expensive, but effective, estate.

This seems to be the trouble with all "people carriers" you can carry the people but not their luggage or carry less people with their luggage.By the way have you ever seen the rear most seats in a 7 seater Qashquai? now they really are a joke!

I did speak to an owner of one of these a while ago. He was getting low 20's mpg from his - seemed a bit low to me considering the power.

I understand they can also suffer cracked cylinder liners without some remedial action being taken (it's not expensive to do though if done alongside the cam belt).

Still, a tune and a different intercooler should see the best part of 300bhp. Probably surprise a few at the traffic light GP.  ;D

Was watching an old Fifth Gear episode last night and they had a S-Max 2.5T. Sounds good an all... It was the episode they drove 6 OAPs around at speed.

My R Class is the same .... .people or stuff, not both. Rear most seats aren't bad though even for an adult, though a Grandma might struggle getting to them  ;)

Brothers got the equivalent Focus with the 2.5T. Wonderful engine, endless torque (his is running 280bhp-he's got a hand held programmer)-downside is around 22mpg-the same when it was on 225bhp.
