Boxing last night
« on: 27 March 2016, 12:01:20 »

Anybody else watch the match between Nick Blackwell and Chris Eubanks Jr last night ?

Never seen Blackwell fight before but had heard of his reputation as a proper hard bastid who comes on stronger and stronger as the fight goes on.
Was hoping to see him knock 10 barrels of shite out that gobshite Eubanks but sadly it was Nick that got the hammering  :(
No matter what Eubanks threw at him, fair play he bounced back even harder  :y :y

Now the very sad bit...............
Due to Nicks reputation, the referee delayed stepping in until the doctor diagnosed that he could no longer see out of his left eye then rightly stopped the fight.
It would now seem that tragically, Nick Blackwell was hurt more then the referee, ringside doctor and anybody else could see  :(

Nick was admitted to hospital straight after the fight for a brain scan and has been diagnosed with a small bleed on the brain and is currently in a medically induced coma until the swelling goes down  :(

Fingers crossed for his full recovery but that will be probably the last time we see him in a ring  :(

Should also be noted that Chris Eubanks Snr tried on 2 occasions to have the fight stopped but to no avail  :(

Yeah was rooting for Nick Blackwell and was hoping he would come back strong later in the fight . That swelling round the eye was noted the round before it was stopped  :( Fair play to uebank even though he's most unpopular just like his father . All the best for Nick  :'(

Yep, saw him on video telling his son to stop hitting his head and go for the body,I'm no fan of Eubank senior but respect where its due.Hope the other lad recovers well though.
