Sold my vinyl collection.
« on: 05 April 2016, 19:35:17 »

Just sold all my vinyl music collection most of it from the 1970s, was going to just take it to the tip till SWMBO mentioned a friend of a friend , anyway £420.00 richer now so that stainless steel exhaust system for the Merc is definitely on the cards!

My collection was in excellent condition, most only played once put straight on to tape for the car years ago. Glad they will give pleasure to others, plus will enjoy the burble from the Merc when I replace the exhaust system, more music to my ears..

I suspect you've just done the blokes at the tip out if £420. The mob that run my local can only be prised out of the portacabin/tea hut if you a) turn up for with a trailer "you'll be needing a permit for that" or b) if you have anything old/interesting "just pop that over here mate".

When I turn up with anything that looks heavy; they're generally harder to find than Lord Lucan riding shergar.

Great result though and a top choice for spending the cash!  :y

A real piece of luck , as I say have not played  vinyl for many years & as we are thinking of downsizing just trying to sort things out, happened to mention about dumping the records & SWMBO said that one of her colleagues husbands friend does a bit of dealing in Vinyl. Anyway he popped round yesterday had a look told me what was good & what was not & made me the offer, the only single I kept was Little white bull by Tommy Steele which was the first record I ever bought think it was around 1961 when I would have been 7 years of age !!

Priced up Stainless exhaust system for the Merc from Long life at Peterborough, looking at around £600 for cat back system custom built twin exit will sound awesome so I'm led to believe , so good result from the vinyl sale.
