I think "Disturbed" are correctly classified as a "Heavy Metal" band ??

They are - that's a very atypical "unplugged" sort of track for them.

It started off a little low-key and then I got sucked in - it could certainly grow on me!  :y
Thanks Nige.

I love Disturbed and have seen them a couple of times, they have done a few covers over the years on albums, sometimes it`s a hidden track at the end of the CD.

I think David Draiman absolutely nailed it on the Sound of Silence, it`s a fantastic cover and the way it builds through the song is just sublime  8)

Agreed, Mr. Gav. My comment wasn't intended to be negative - far from it. I hadn't heard of that band or singer before, so it's great to add another piece of niceness to my listening pleasure.
It did take a while to forget how Simom and Garth's Uncle sounded and get into it, but a much better version from "Disturbed" and for me, the definitive performance.

I didn`t take it as a negative comment Ron, I totally agree with you that it`s a bit low key to start with and just builds as the song goes and his voice is fantastic  :y

That slow-build tecnique reminded me of a jazz band I heard in Houston some years back: they started with one instrument - sax or clarinet, nothing else - and slowly added other instruments to build and build, finally with the drummer coming in. The anticipation and delayed gratification were magic - just like this man.

I love songs like that, Dream of Mirrors by iron Maiden is similar, each verse builds until it`s full steam ahead in the last verse
