Not sure how you reached that conclusion  ??? The fixing nuts are plastic...

Most vehicles have steel nuts which is what causes the problem with the aluminium shields.

My MOT is booked for thursday  one of the CLAM casings is holed on one cat will this be a failure? No gasses are being released
