Keep an eye on sentiment regarding the EU referendum.  ;)

If the result is OUT the Stock Market and the £ will take a battering in the markets.  ::)  :(

Better off buying a quality classic car Aston Martin or E type can't  lose on one of these at present, & a lot more fun.

Probably already priced in by the markets. Keep in mind that withdrawal will not happen overnight, but will take an estimated 6 years to get all agreements and treaties negotiated and settled. There is 40 years of ever closer union to untangle and other countries are also looking a leaving in Eastern Europe and also The Netherlands, so it probably won't only be the UK that will be negotiating with the EU. Multiple countries have come to the conclusion the would be better off being like Norway and Switzerland with association agreements.

Tempted by Bank of Ireland (whom I have a mortgage with) and also Barclays.

BOI shares are valued at buttons, and have been for the last five or six years.

Barclay shares have lost about 90% since the peak.

As Sir Tig mentions, the IN or OUT of  Europe scenario makes predicting the future even more of a lottery.

I'm just glad I put £50,000 on Leicester to win the league. :)

Could 50 or 100 be described as a few? :)

No, in your case M'lud 50 or 100 could be accurately described as a drop in the ocean.  :y
